There She Goes Again

Aside from a long weekend road trip to Seattle, I've been home bound since July.  And I've been antsy to travel.  So imagine my delight that my trip to Atlanta is finally here! I'm going to a class on Lean IT.  I'm leaving tomorrow and returning Wednesday, but anticipate many adventures in my short time in the warm south.

I am not complaining, being at home means Travis can do what he loves best...hunting.  It's that season where I get the house to myself for lazy weekends with no alarm, endless kitty loves, and numerous movies.  I also get very domestic.  This fall I made my own pickles (which I will be trying when I get home) and will be making jam very soon.  I don't do spring cleaning, I do fall cleaning.  I actually got permission to toss old huntin' magazines that take up several drawers in our house!!  YAY!!

Though it's my sweetie's favorite time of the year, it's my least favorite.  This year I've been trying really hard to find things to enjoy about fall...and it seems to be working.  Last year, it snowed on Labor Day and didn't let up until May (it felt like, maybe late April).  This year, I porch dwelled in October!!  So, here are my reasons to enjoy fall:
  1. (and this one is always the case)  Travis is SO happy!
  2. Fall TV - new shows premiering is just a joy for my DVR.  Revenge on ABC and Ringer on CW are my favorites.
  3. The yummy produce.  Late summer, early fall:  Cherries...and around here, they are THE BEST!  I really enjoyed the farmer's markets this year.  Too bad I learned how to shuck corn AFTER we ate ears and ears of it (Thanks, Kissy.  I can't wait to try the new trick!!)  I also requested a Bountiful Baskets location here, even volunteered to help.  I'll keep trying.
  4. Richard Paul Evans and Nicholas Sparks always release a new book in the fall.  I read "The Best of Me" in one sitting and anxiously await RPE new one in a couple of weeks.
That's it.  And that is with my contemplating it for a while.  And why I need to get my fanny on an airplane...so I can miss it!

Love and hugs, La
