Friday Favorites

Since I posted last, I’ve been in 7 states (Colorado, Montana, Idaho, New York, Vermont, Texas, New Mexico) and Canada.  Whirlwind life I lead and I’m just getting caught up on my favorites!  This is the travel addition:

Favorite Facebook:  The Olympic Games!  Updates and photo goodness GALORE!

Favorite Twitter:  Adam Shankman.  He’s just delightful.  And one of the most talented people I’m aware of.

Favorite Day:  Any during my family reunion.  I really loved lunch with Maria, Gloria, and Nicole.  I loved cooking with Nicole & Gloria – A LOT.  I got some quality one on one time with my brother.  I got to catch up with friends in the area (Angelica, Kristie, Jenae, Lurisa), I got to give hugs and kisses to my nephews and best of all I got to see close and extended family that I’ve missed.

Favorite Spontaneous Act:  I hired a driver to take me from Montreal to the border of Vermont.  I was only an hour away from the border of a state I needed to check off.  It was the best few hours I’ve spent in a long time.  We laughed until it hurt and just had a blast.  It was NOT ridiculous!

Favorite Surprise:  The first exit in Vermont had a Dunkin’ Donuts!  HOORAY!

Favorite Restaurant:  Vesta Dipping Grill, in Denver CO.  Travis & I went there before my travel extravaganza began!  So many sauce choices.  Highly recommend.

Favorite Dessert:  The Coconut Cream dessert at Le Local in Montreal, Quebec.  OMG.  The greatest dessert I’ve ever had.

Favorite Refreshment:  The Caramel Iced drink from Dunkin’ Donuts.  I was lucky enough to have it twice – once more in Sante Fe, NM

Favorite Bite:  My driver, Johnny, suggested an Italian restaurant called “Tre Marie” in Little Italy in Montreal.  Full on Italian (where most people that spoke French in Montreal could switch to English very easily) woman said “you like pasta?” when I couldn’t really read a lot of the menu.  I said yes.  She said, “OK” and left.  I didn’t know what I was going to get, but it was a sampler of Italian heaven.  I can not describe how good that pasta was.  See?

Favorite City:  Montreal, Quebec

Favorite State:  Montana.  Home sweet home.

Favorite Book:  Aleph by Paulo Coehlo.   “Transform your life. Rewrite your destiny.

In his most personal novel to date, internationally bestselling author Paulo Coelho returns with a remarkable journey of self-discovery. Like the main character in his much-beloved The Alchemist, Paulo is facing a grave crisis of faith. As he seeks a path of spiritual renewal and growth, his only real option is to begin again—to travel, to experiment, to reconnect with people and the landscapes around him.

Setting off to Africa, and then to Europe and Asia via the Trans-Siberian railroad, he initiates a journey to revitalize his energy and passion. Even so, he never expects to meet Hilal. A gifted young violinist, she is the woman Paulo loved five hundred years before—and the woman he betrayed in an act of cowardice so far-reaching that it prevents him from finding real happiness in this life. Together they will initiate a mystical voyage through time and space, traveling a path that teaches love, forgiveness, and the courage to overcome life’s inevitable challenges. Beautiful and inspiring, Aleph invites us to consider the meaning of our own personal journeys.” Barnes and Noble Overview

Favorite Movie:  Step Up Revolution.  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1800741/  The best in the Step Up series.  I saw this one while in Montreal.

Favorite TV Show:  The Olympics, naturally.  I’ve lost MANY hours to this amazement.

Favorite Song:  Since it’s been three weeks, here is a small list of what I’ve been listening to:
Favorite Quote:  “The grass sure doesn’t grow under your feet, does it?”  My Aunt Gloria :^)

Favorite Thing To Do:  Go into OLD churches.  No matter what city I find myself in, I can usually spot an old church that is open.  I just love the architecture, history, peacefulness, and the attention to detail they display.  LOVE.

Favorite Thing To Look Forward To:   PA/NYC is NEXT WEEK!!!  NKOTB meet and greet, here I come.  I can’t sleep at night I’m so excited.
