Friday Favorites

Favorite Facebook:  Justin Sesek.  Again.  His political comments will be GREATLY missed in a couple of weeks, but he’s inspirational in life, love and other mysteries.  So all is well.

Favorite Instagram:  purposeofenvy.  Just trust me.  Follow him.

Favorite New Thing I Tried:  Brussel Sprouts.  YUM.  I never knew.  Thanks Judnichs!!

Favorite Quote:  If you don’t apply it, you don’t know it.

Favorite Bite:   Banana bars that I made to take to Judnich’s.  The only thing that would have made them better is if Keri was around to make them for us (doesn’t everything taste better when someone else makes it?)

Favorite Book:  The ones I unpacked from my Grandma after she passed away.  Travis put together a bookshelf for me before he left and Nicole and I spent an hour going through the many treasures!  The oldest one we found was from 1893.  I have a battered, well-read copy of The Swiss Family Robinson that cost fifty cents.  There was one Danielle Steele book and it was one I didn’t already have.  I have a book published in MCMXLV.  I have three copies of Tom Sawyer now – all with original words (as noted in a previous rant about publishers changing words).  I also have a dictionary from 1925.  It’s only 800 pages and pretty small.

We had a great laugh (story to be shared at a later date) and nearly threw away a history book after “judging a book by its cover”.  I opened it and it had my grandfather’s military history written in it.  Throw away a book.  Pffftttt.

Favorite Movie:  The Master.  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1560747/  Movie whack-a-doo.  This had some of the most uncomfortable scenes I’ve ever seen (until I see Paper Boy … http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1496422/ … from the rumors I’ve heard of THAT movie it defines the word uncomfortable).  Brilliant, genius, incredible actors.  I don’t know why I love weird-ass movies so much, but this one takes the cake this year.

Favorite TV Episode:  So You Think You Can Dance Season 9 Finale (pronounced “fa-NAH-ley” by my favorite host ever, Cat Deeley).  Here are two examples as to why this is my favorite television show.  EVER.  Of.All.Time.

*Spoiler Alert* Don’t watch these if you haven’t seen the finale:

Otherwise, feel free to watch over and over.  I sure have.

Favorite (Honorary) TV Episode:  American Horror Story: Asylum.  Un-freak-ing-be-lieve-able!  Adam Levine acting?  Startling AND sexy scenes?  Yes.PLEASE.

Favorite Thing To Do:  Laugh.  And I am so blessed to be around a lot of laughter.

Favorite Thing To Look Forward To:  Travel – think I had enough this summer?  Nope.  Planning a trip to Vegas to see Scott and be at the finish line for our friend, Jackie, who’s running a marathon.  42 days and counting!
