Grateful Month - Day 14

I have posted ad naseam about my pets so a picture of them as requested for today from my little "travel through the life of La in pictures" won't be of them.

Today I'm going to talk about how grateful I am about USANA.  This adventure has changed my life.  I was always against network marketing, more than happy to support my many friends that were involved.  The products were always great, but I never wanted to be an entrepreneur.

Then I was laid off from DIRECTV.  I went to several Arbonne parties with my friends and Amy, the consultant asked me several times to join her.  I was still vehemently against it.  Even when I didn't have anything else going on.

Fast forward to working at Jeppesen.  My co-worker, Debbie, had me try her energy drink, REV 3.  It was awesome and I was hooked from the very first time I tried it.  She told me how to get it (she was an associate with USANA) and I said I'd love to support her and just place an order.  Then she asked me to go to a spa party with USANA.  I am always up for a good party, meeting new friends, and do I really need an excuse to socialize?  Nope.

The skin care line was fine...I don't know any different...but I was intrigued with the vitamins.  I have been taking a pre-natal vitamin my whole life (I was advised by the doctors to take one because of my back).  They talked about how their vitamins were manufactured and the quality was second to none.  I decided to try the multi-vitamin (our Essentials) and holy cow.  I noticed a difference right away in my energy level.  I didn't feel "honk-shoo" at 3pm wanting a nap.  I don't know if was the vitamins or the REV 3, but I didn't care.

And I just knew I had to do it.  But my analytical brain kicked in.  How does it work, would I be successful, and what about all of the other products?

I had Nicole research the skin care, since she had been trained in this very thing.  She said, "I don't want to like it, but it's the best I've ever seen."  And she said, "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think you should do it."

My co-worker, Debbie was out of town so I did research online.  Publically traded?  USNA if you need to check.  Part of the BBB?  Yep, with an A+ rating with only one complaint, resolved.  Members of the Direct Selling Association?  Yep and the founder was on the board in 2008.

I had a couple of questions so I submitted them online at USANA.com.  I was answered by Carol Pierce.  One of the sweetest people I have ever met.  She was transparent, kind, supportive, efficient and experienced.  I knew I had to work with her.

I created a business plan with short-term and long-term goals.  Travis was super supportive.  I am so grateful for that.

So, I signed up with the largest package they offered so I could try everything.  I told my co-worker that I would be forever grateful that she introduced me to USANA, but because of our differences in personality and life goals it was best for me to work with someone else more like-minded.

I felt bad, but I knew in order for me to be successful I needed to join my tribe.  And I did just that.  Carol is amazing.

I met my first two goals, and I knew it would be awesome, but I didn't really foresee just how awesome it has been.

To name a few reasons (in no particular order):
  • I haven't been sick in over a year.  Seasonally, I would get sick.  Not once since taking the vitamins.
  • I have "released" weight and kept it off.
  • The shakes and bars taste so good.  I have a meal-replacement shake almost everyday.
  • My skin is amazing.  I'm not doing it for vanity, but for my health, and I have had more compliments on my skin and hair.  Thanks USANA!
  • I make enough money to cover my minimum cost with USANA - which is product we use daily.
  • I can't call Bela my "blind, gimpy dog" anymore.  Since being on our joint health product, she doesn't limp around anymore.
  • The International Convention was an experience I will never forget and can't wait to attend them every year!
  • The friends I have made are just angels.  It's been a blast getting to know them.
  • My personal development is over the top.  I have grown so much in the last year.  And I know that will keep happening.
  • My dreams are bigger.  And trust me, I have ALWAYS had big dreams.
  • I have learned so much about health.  I'm no doctor, but I can explain a mean RESET program or weight management plan.
Okay.  That was more than a few, and I could go on and on.

I'm on a retirement plan that is different from most people.  The work I do today will pay me forever.  It was a shift in mindset for me, but once I got it...I saw a very bright future.

But the thing I am most grateful for is the support and participation that I've received from family and friends.  From my business partner and sister.  From all of you that placed orders.  From the spa parties hosted to the visits at our booths everywhere.  For listening to me carry on how awesome this is.  I thank you.
