Celebration

I wrote this on June 28, 2014.

I am very particular about what I see or hear right before I go to sleep.  I believe the last thing you focus on will carry into your dreams and subconscious.  The other night, the last word I heard from the TV was "celebration".  Yep!  I have much to celebrate.

Today is super special because I'm sitting in Barnes & Noble journaling with my sweet Emrie.  It is one of my most favorite things on earth to do.  She wanted a bible (I could weep) and we found her the most darling one.  Last night she read part of the story of Noah to Kristie and I.  A-DOR-A-BLE!  I can't wait for the rest of the story tonight!!

Last weekend, Kari & I went to V & Pete's wedding in LA.  It was the most sincere wedding I have ever been to.  I didn't realize I felt this way until this special event, but I think weddings are an obligation.  Pomp & circumstance...a show, you know?  I even felt that way about mine.  I wanted to be married to Travis, more than anything, but wanted to wear jeans to my wedding and have a BBQ.  Don't get me wrong, my wedding was amazing and perfect, but I felt like it was for everyone else, not me.  With V & Pete, it was personal.  They had milk and cookies instead of a cake.  Why?  They like cookies.  DUH.  They just truly wanted to share their special moment with the people they love.  As it should be.

Then on Wednesday (June 25), Sherry and I met The Millers at the airport.  They brought Baby Lyle home.  He was adopted from Bulgaria and the cutest ever.  He turns 3 on September 17 and was so sweet.  We got to love all over him, and even though you could tell they were exhausted, they were all so happy.  Congratulations and you hit the jackpot with Tim and Mary Ann, little one!

Osborns are here for the week and to celebrate 4th of July.  I know it's supposed to focus on my nation's independence, but who's kidding who?  I'm in it for the fun, friends, food and fireworks.  I'm so glad they are here!
