Today I am grateful for forgiveness. Yes, the ultimate kind that I get from God, but also the kind that I can do myself. I am quick to forgive. I learned early on the teaching in Mark 11:26.
I have also learned that forgiveness does not have to equal relationship. In some cases it is expected, but it doesn't have to be that way. Just because you forgive someone, doesn't mean you are required to let them back into your life to repeat the offense. I sometimes feel that obligation - from society and the culture I live in. But until God obliges me, I'm forgiving and moving on. And for that I am thankful!
