Awesome God

When I was a senior in high school, Dennis Bortz (one of the three of us that weren't Mormon in my grade) wrote Proverbs 3:5-6 in my junior year's yearbook. It became my life verse and I've used it ever since.  For so many things, and over seasons of my life, different parts of the verses mean something different or more than others.  Sometimes it's "trust", sometimes it is "God", sometimes it's "acknowledge Him". In just 2017 during the Freedom study (the first Bible study that Travis and I did together!) I saw the words "with all your heart".  I never considered that phrase before.  And that was a full 20+ years later.

Then last night.  It brought me to a full cry.

We had a Freedom night (our small group did Freedom Study - my 2nd time, but this time with just the gals and not co-ed like before) and I attended as part of the Dream Team - for prayer.

Deanna Davis, one of my small group members and new friend (we bonded over journaling and discbound notebooks) came up to Travis and I for prayer.  She said, "I would like prayer for more trust in God". That's all she said.

And in that moment, I saw a glimpse of God.  He knew, in 1993, that I would need THAT verse for THIS moment.

So, I shared with her that God gave me my life verse when I was in high school, because one of my friends was obedient to write it in my yearbook.  So I could share it with her and pray it over her, and continue to pray for her.
