Total Eclipse (2024) of the Heart

Today was a "solar eclipse where the Moon crosses between the Earth and the Sun. The eclipse can be seen throughout most of North and Central America with a total eclipse visible from parts of Mexico, the United States, and Canada." per Google Doodle today.  I mean - just look at how cute:

And watch what it does when you you click on the page:

It was super fun to watch this year.  I was at the DIRECTV office in Englewood in 2017 (didn't have glasses) and had to borrow some for the quick minute I could be outside.  Today, working from home, I was able to see it in all phases.  Where I lived, we got about 60% eclipsed.  It was awesome.

At one point, I was on a call and forgot I wasn't on mute.  Travis came and said, "It's colder outside."  I said, "No it isn't!" in disbelief and Brittany, my friend and co-worker said, "Laura, you aren't on mute."  Oopsie.

Since it's so bright here ALL the time, it didn't get dark.  So how could it be colder.  But it WAS!  Noticeably so.

Here are the pictures we took:

You can't even tell that the sun is about half covered by the moon in this photo!

Travis put the glasses over his phone camera.  See?  Half gone!

Here are the photos my family took from Dallas where they had 100% eclipse!

When I was out on the back porch, I saw all the neighbors doing the same thing:  staring up at the sky with stupid glasses on our face.  It was a moment of unity I will never forget.  The next one will be in 2044.  I might still be alive, depending on God's will.  I told Travis I was keeping the glasses.  HAHAHAHAHA ...For 20 years... LOL

I just can't believe God's creation does something so incredible.  Well, yes I can.  I just can't believe I'm loved so much that I was allowed to see it!
