Pause, don't quit.
In this season of my life, I have a lot going on. Life is full. I try not to say "busy" anymore because it is exhausting.
I recently did an audit of my time.
168 hours in a week.
- 48 hours sleep
- 24 hours Sabbath
- 50 hours work
- 12 hours small group
- 5 hours prayer team leader
- 5 hours coaching at Summit
- 1 hour OMS Prayer
- 3 hours OMG group
- 1 hour TUMI Board
- 1 hour Book Club
That leaves 18 hours a week for appointments (and I have a lot of doctor appts now due to my joint/muscle pain!), house responsibilities, chilling out, etc. GAH!
Here's my problem. I love all of it. And the 1-5 hour things are small at the time, but they sure add up. i should also note, I'm not very good at protecting my Sabbath day. I'm working on that.
In my coaching session with Bethany Smith at church, we talked about this. I think God has me coaching as a stepping stone to being a spiritual director. It's a way I can work from home and earn extra money. But I don't have any time to do the training/certification process. My homework is to find out how many hours a week I would need.
Posting this here for reference later:

None of these really give how many hours the commitment is - just how many years or courses needed to complete (and how many days needed for retreats, if applicable).
But, this is what I know. I'm not adding anything new. I've told leadership at church that I want to pass the prayer team leader role to the next one called. I'm going to focus on keeping my Sabbath day. I'm going to take time in the day to pause. Be still. And KEEP GOING.
