50 Before I'm 50 - Day 43

Someone who brings you joy.

Kristie, Drew and Emrie.  They are SUCH a joy.

We met Kristie (and Mike O) at DIRECTV when we worked there in Boise, I think in 1999.  Maybe it was 1998.  But Kristie and I were on the same team for a hot minute, both of us were aiming for Team Leader...eventually all four of us were Team Leaders.

When Drew was several months old (Born in March 2000) we started having weekly dinners.  I've talked about that before, I'm sure.  When he got old enough to talk, we were trying to decide what he would call us.  It was such an honor that we were Aunt La and Uncle Trav.  He was the first to call me an Aunt - and you all know how much I LOVE being an aunt.  Travis is the best uncle ever - teaching him all the things NOT to say.  HAHA  I am so proud of him.  He's grown into the best man ever - and such a good husband.

When Emrie was born (Jan 2004), oh, boy, my heart was outside of my body in that little girl.  I connected with her early, fast and forever.  I haven't teased Kristie in a while that her first sentence was "Where'd Aunt LaLa go?"  I can not wait for the opportunity to sit in a coffee shop and journal together.

And Kristie.  No one could ask for a better friend.  We have only lived in the same city for 6 years but she is THE friend.  She never gives me BS, so honest, so loyal, and so real.  She's hilarious, kind, thoughtful, smart and just a huge blessing in my life.  I love a lot of our traditions.  We did weekly dinners.  We did weekly emails.  We did weekly prayers.  We've traveled together, visited each other.  I pray for them so much.  I mostly pray she and I get together so she can whoop me in Canasta.
