9/11

Yesterday was a big day for our nation.  Not sure why we call this the anniversary of 9/11 - it isn't something I'd choose to celebrate, but I think it is for all of the survivors, especially those who lost close loved ones.

As proof that we remember.

I was not directly impacted by that horrid day.  Just watched the TV from far away.  Briefly worried about Matt when we heard the Pentagon was hit (he's in the military and at the time went to the Pentagon frequently) but he checked in pretty quickly.  It seems that when large tragedy stikes, I'm on the sidelines.  I'm NOT complaining, just observing.  Yesterday I stayed away completely from live TV.  Based on what I saw on facebook and Twitter, it was EVERYWHERE.  I found myself wondering about the families of the suicide bombers (is that what they are called? the individuals responsible directly for the planes crashing). IF they had families.  Maybe they were chosen ( or did they volunteer?) because they had no loyalties/ties to anyone.

My heart goes out to those who were there that day, saw the terror first hand, or lost a beloved.

I just think about how sometimes beauty comes from destruction.  Like the sunset due to pollution in the air.  A pretty skyline due to fire (which happened last night while I was porch dwelling).  Kindness of others when hurt befalls a stranger.  I'm not going to go out there and cause havoc...just choose to see the good when it does happen.

Love & Prayers, La
