Destin, Florida - Take 2

We saw our digs in daylight!! I slept in until a little before 10a and saw I was tagged in a photo by my early bird friend. CJ took the bike out for a ride and took beautiful pics of the morning. (I'll post a slide show at the end of our week.)

We got ready and went out for some errands. We wanted a few snacks for the house, some sweet tea from McAlister's deli (we may or may not have gotten 2 gallons) and sunglasses for CJ (she couldn't find hers...and they are a necessity in this town. Don't be jealous!)

We thought we would try the outlet mall, but they weren't open. We found out later that they open late on Sunday, but the empty parking lots were perfect for scoping out the route we would take when we came back. We kept a list of the musts. So, we went to "The Commons". A large outdoor mall complete with a Bass Pro Shop and IMAX theater. Which we promptly decided to frequent at 8pm.

We ate lunch at Hard Rock Cafe - and sat outside...in January...in the bright sun - and then shopped some more. Around 4pm, we thought it was about time to see the beach. So, with cameras in hand, we ditched our shoes and went to the water. We went to Calhoun Public Beach and watched the sunset. And instantly made plans for a beach day tomorrow.

It is sooooooo beautiful here, the people are so friendly (well, CJ said it best, "If I lived here year round, I'd be friendly all of the time, too!!"), and we both could easily live here permanently.

We went to Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol at the IMAX. Both of us had seen it before, but it was incredible in that theater. The ticket only cost $9.75. Popcorn was dinner.

The don't believe in the normal speed limits around here. We've seen 7, 12, 19, and 23 so far. And everyone knows we are tourists because we are in flip flops and aren't wearing coats. Apparently it's "cold" here. LOL

Dear Time~
Slow down.
Thanks, La
