We told a lot of people (I can't remember everyone to tell you the update) but not everyone knew that Travis applied for a promotion with the DIRECTV call center in Boise. There was a very good chance we would move back to where our roots are. I had a ton of reasons to want to move and a ton of reasons to want to stay in Missoula, and with Travis's awesome example, am happy with however it turned out.
Apparently, moving to Boise isn't in the cards right now. The position is going to someone with more experience in the retention call type (he's been supporting billing and technical for almost 6 years) but he sure gave them a tough decision. I'm disappointed for him because you don't apply for a job like this that you don't really want, but he has such a good attitude about everything so the feeling of disappointment will be short lived.
He absolutely loves what he's doing now, so that's good. If he applied for different reasons, we might not be in such a great place right now. I am so proud of him for at least trying and giving it his very best.
To my friends and family that live in Boise (or are moving there shortly), you were the main reason I wanted to move back and I still miss you tons!
To my friends and family in Missoula, I'm there in spirit and will see you all again very soon (my contract may be extended until Labor Day, so if I don't see you, have a great summer!)
Love, La
