Favorite Facebook: Craig Heller. He’s on my USANA team and what WON’T I steal from his page is the better question!
Favorite Twitter: Ellen Barkin. That girl is a firecracker! And an Obama supporter, unabashedly so. LOVE.
Favorite Day: Tuesday. Since moving to Montana, Tuesday has been my favorite day of the week. It started out because that’s when pub trivia was. I don’t remember any other reason why it was my favorite day, but I had several at one point. This Tuesday, I went to Boulder, CO and met with Thatcher Wine of Juniper Books to start my collection of 100 Greatest Books series. Books are my absolute favorite thing!
Favorite Surprise: The postcard from 1924 from Colorado Springs, CO that was tucked inside the ancient copy of Tom Sawyer that I procured.
Favorite Restaurant: Firehouse Subs. My family’s subs for picnics are #1 in the world, but this sandwich came pretty darned close. And they have like 50 different sauces to choose from. And delicious chili (which doesn’t happen to my taste buds very often).
Favorite Bite: The cherries this time of year are so fabulous. Get thee some!
Favorite Book: The Story of Beautiful Girl by Rachel Simon. “It is 1968. Lynnie, a young white woman with a developmental disability, and Homan, an African American deaf man, are locked away in an institution, the School for the Incurable and Feebleminded, and have been left to languish, forgotten. Deeply in love, they escape, and find refuge in the farmhouse of Martha, a retired schoolteacher and widow. But the couple is not alone-Lynnie has just given birth to a baby girl. When the authorities catch up to them that same night, Homan escapes into the darkness, and Lynnie is caught. But before she is forced back into the institution, she whispers two words to Martha: "Hide her." And so begins the 40-year epic journey of Lynnie, Homan, Martha, and baby Julia-lives divided by seemingly insurmountable obstacles, yet drawn together by a secret pact and extraordinary love.” From Barnes & Noble Overview
Favorite Movie: Moonrise Kingdom. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1748122/ Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors of all time. The kids in this movie…holy crap they were so good. And who doesn’t love Francis McDormand and Bill Murray? Charming, unique movie. Thoroughly enjoyed, and giggled my way through the whole thing. I also want a kitten. The end.
Favorite TV Show: Bramwell. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111899/ Missing Downton Abbey? This is a GREAT show to watch while waiting for season 3.
Favorite Song: It’s Time by Imagine Dragons. http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/its-time/id499982929?i=499982948
Favorite Quote: “I already want to take a nap tomorrow.”
Favorite News: Glee Project is viewable online!!! This was my way of getting in two favorite TV shows without cheating. I just watched one episode, so I don’t know their names yet, but this year the talent is leaps and bounds better than last year. I already have my faves – after one show! It was really fun watching Glee with Damian McGinty in it (one of the winners from Glee Project last year).
Favorite Indulgence: Getting my nails done. I’ve also joined the pedicure camp – my cute little pigs are pretty now!
Favorite Thing To Do: Go to the movie. And it’s really hard to live in love - not fear - right now. My thoughts and prayers have been with those affected by the Aurora movie theater shooting all day. This is such a wonderful place to live (even though I’ve only been here a few months, I’ve known it for a long time from my many visits) and I just don’t understand why such tragedies keep happening here.
Favorite Thing To Look Forward To: I talked to Travis about spending Christmas in Hawaii with Scott. He didn’t say no! Quite the possibility!!
