Favorite Website: Good ole google. In my “old life” at DIRECTV I had to do a TON of data analyzing. I was assigned that this week and I drew an absolute blank. Could not remember any of the awesomeness I generated when working for el diablo. That, and we used it a ton for travel research.
Favorite Day: Wednesday. We had a great day at work, but it was even better to see my fabulous family that evening. Andy & Jackie picked me up from the hotel and we went to Joey’s to eat. The food was really good (when we got it – poor Ian had to wait forever for his grilled cheese) but the company was the best. Their kids are so dang cute…Josie just smiles ALL the time and Ian is so smart! We went for ice cream after and I just had the most wonderful time. Thanks to the Snoqualmie Vans! xoxo
Favorite Restaurant: Elliott’s Oyster House near Pike Place Market in Seattle. The seafood is amazing there!
Favorite Bite: Cheese curds from Beechers at Pike Place Market. OMG. Great texture and such good flavor. http://www.beechershandmadecheese.com
Favorite Book: The Last Letter From Your Lover by Jojo Moyes.
"This story of passion and missed chances is entrancing." —Parade
A Brief Encounter for our time, The Last Letter from Your Lover is a sophisticated, spellbinding double love story that spans decades and thrillingly evokes a bygone era. In 1960, Jennifer Stirling wakes in the hospital and remembers nothing—not the car accident that put her there, not her wealthy husband, not even her own name. Searching for clues, she finds an impassioned letter, signed simply "B," from a man for whom she seemed willing to risk everything. In 2003, journalist Ellie Haworth stumbles upon the letter and becomes obsessed with learning the unknown lovers’ fate—hoping it will inspire her own happy ending. Remarkably moving, this is a novel for romantics of every age. From the Barnes and Noble Overview.
Favorite Movie: Your Sister’s Sister.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1742336/
I am hooked on Emily Blunt. I will watch anything she’s in, no questions asked. I have not been disappointed so far, and I loved this movie. And the ending! Genius.
Favorite TV Show: Oh Glorious Downton Abbey Season 2 became available for my viewing pleasure this week. I watched 4 episodes in the first 2 days I had access and finished it on Thursday night. SO addicting! And I’m not ashamed to say it…I have a little depression after seeing the finale. Am I the only one that thinks fictional characters are a part of real life? And now they are going on a long trip – won’t see them again until January 2013.
Favorite Song: Some Nights, by Fun.
http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/some-nights/id486040153?i=486040194
I have listened to this song over and over and over this week. I can’t get enough.
Favorite Quote: “Lighthouses don’t go running all over an island looking for boats to save; they just stand there shining.”
Favorite News: Our boss approved a “play” day while we are in Montreal, Canada for a customer visit. YAY!!!
Favorite Indulgence: Homemade Jam. At Pike Place Market, there was a stand for JUST pepper jams. I tried ghost pepper jam. It was too hot. Shocking for me to say since, usually, nothing can be TOO spicy. So I got the habanero jam. It’s ridiculously delicious!!! Trav & Nic – I only bought one. Promise.
Favorite Thing To Do: List. I have a list just for my lists! Hahaha. And for my lister friends out there, List Master is the greatest app on the planet! One of my favorite ways to list is by going into IMDB.com and looking at the “coming soon” section. I write down movies I want to see based on the title and the actors. I don’t read reviews, look at trailers, or anything. Just pre-judge based on minimal information. Then, when I’m at the movies, I’ll see the trailers for the upcoming movies and find that – most of the time – they look REALLY good!
Favorite Thing To Look Forward To: Get ready for another list. I can’t narrow it down to just one thing. This is, to quote my friend, Kissy, truly the “summer of funner”. Tonight, I fly home for the weekend. Nic, CJ & I are having a USANA open house tomorrow. The next Friday, Travis is coming to Denver for the weekend. We’re going to see Kenny Chesney & Tim McGraw in concert and go see Jersey Boys again. Then we’re flying back to Missoula together. On Wednesday, July 29, we’re driving to Boise for a great time with my family. Can’t wait to see Matt & Maria and the rest of the family! I’ll fly from Boise back to Denver and then on Monday, July 30, I’m off to Montreal, Canada for the week for work. August 2-5 is a luxury spa getaway with Mary to Sante Fe, New Mexico. I need to check that state off my list (to be in all 50 states) and we’re going to the opera. AND THEN, August 16-21 is a fun trip to Hershey, PA and NYC with Nicole. First stop, NKOTBSB at the MixTape Festival…where we will be enjoying our VIP tickets! Our plans for NYC take up a 2 page word document. Whirlwind fun! And to end my summer of funner, Travis is coming to Denver to drive back to Missoula with me, Labor Day weekend. We’re stopping in Sheridan to see my friend, Mandi, and I can’t think of a better way to start the fall.
