Reset

Have I mentioned lately that USANA has AMAZING products? One of them is called "Reset". It is a 5-day program that I'm actually going to use to reset my brain. I have been able to overcome physical cravings during our "Road to Good Health" plan - could not be more grateful that I am not affected by caffeine or lack thereof, and have not missed potatoes at dinner one bit (GASP, says the native Idahoan in me). I need help with how much time I actually spend THINKING about food. Sometimes, while I'm eating, I'm thinking about the next meal. So bad.

SOOOO Reset, Day 1.

Breakfast shake with Jackie: Vanilla Nutrimeal, orange juice and a banana blended with ice. Thanks, honey, for the amazing recipe!

Snack: Peanut butter snack bar (Actually had the thought of saving my favorite kind of bar for later in the day. *shakes head*)

Lunch: Forgot about lunch and had a call with my USANA sponsor. Had Chocolate Nutrimeal with ice water when I actually felt hungry.  So tasty and easy!

One hour later: Was thinking about going downstairs for a snack. NOPE. Can't. It's only 3pm and I can only have one bar and one shake for the rest of the day. It would be so bad to have it all done by 5pm in the evening. hahaha

Right now: Feel pretty good.

What NOT to do while on a reset:
  • Read food blogs (Iowa Girl Eats and Smitten Kitchen, you'll just have to be put on hold for a few days)
  • Watch the Food Network (UGH, those recipes are AMAZING)
  • Run out of orange juice or other approved ingredient that will require a trip to the store - they are a TRAP people.  A TRAP.  I still haven't gone, because I'm scured.
What TO do during a reset:
  • Take naps. If you're asleep, you can't be thinking about eating.
  • Clean out your pantry, fridge and freezer.  You can't eat the stuff right now anyway - good time to get rid of the stuff that is so bad for you.
  • Drink a LOT of water.  It's surprisingly filling.
  • Talk about it.  I blog, others may need to vent to someone.  Have a support system.  My sister and b-i-l are doing it with me.  Hopefully they post some of their experience in the comments.
