God is Good

WOW.

That is the only word I can think of, because what happened is so big, it doesn't have words!

I have been praying about a Spiritual Director program.  I first heard about the concept on Wednesday, Jan 10, from Marie Dudrey, our new Children's Director... who couldn't meet on that Friday as she was going on a spiritual/prayer retreat.  On Thursday, at prayer, I asked her about it.  She told me she has been in a small group of women for about 12 years and they are her spiritual mentors.  They are in a group text, they meet once a month (sometimes just for prayer, sometimes they'll do a book study or a topic study, sometimes it's just girls night out), and they meet once a year for a retreat up in the mountains.

YES!  I want that!

So I started praying about it.  We are in the middle of 21 Days of Prayer after all.  I knew I wanted someone to mentor me, and someone to mentor. I thought of Yvonne Tsalamandris and Marie Chillemi.  It's already sort of happening unofficially that way already.  I talked to Travis about it, and my new friend, Matt Moen.  I also got confirmation from my mentors in Montana, Mary Lou Nelson and Jeannie Applebury.

At the right time, I told Yvonne about it.  She LOVES the idea.  We've been praying together about it and she's been saying to wait until it's God's time.

Multiple times, I've been with Marie and wanted to tell her, but God said "wait".  And each time, I kept my mouth shut.

And all that was so this moment could happen.  At prayer this morning, Yvonne and I were talking - praise reports and prayer requests with each other - when Marie came up.  She said, "I have a question for you both, I'm so glad you're both right here!"  She then proceeded to say she wanted to have someone (us) teach her how to prayer.  She said, "It's like you said with Yvonne, she taught you how to pray a certain way and how much it helped.  I want more of that."  I started to cry.

Yvonne told her about the program, what we'd been praying for, all the details we had up to that point (and a couple more, like doing a retreat every 6 months and we need to have a heart for the children - the next generation) and for Marie to pray about it. 

I.AM.SO.EXCITED. I.COULD.JUST.BURST!

God is my #1 Ultimate Spiritual Director.  So glad He's giving me more on this earth.
