50 Before I'm 50 - Day 6

Something you love making.

Yesterday, I got to spend the day with Carie canning.  She's never done it before and, though it's been over a decade since I have, I knew how to do it (mostly thanks to making spicy pickles with Sandy Hanson circa 2014). 

We made canned diced tomatoes.  And we canned a few jars of pickles.  No longer spicy, sadly.  We're all wimps now.  The tomatoes and cucumbers were from Carie's garden.

My favorite thing to can is cherries.  Flathead are best.  So I ordered a cherry pitter from Amazon (I don't know what happened to mine) and am on the lookout for some good cherries. Round 2 of canning is in our near future!
