Favorite Day: Saturday, June 9. Nic was here. We started at 10am with Mer and Emery at a Stampin’ Up workshop at my new friend, Stephanie’s house. Got some really cool pens. We spent an hour or so at the mall and then met up with Mary for lunch. Just delightful. Then we had impromptu massages. Went to a 31 party with Mer & Emery at my new friend, Billie’s house – got to see Stacey! After that we went to dinner at Fleming’s steakhouse and STILL had time for a late movie. We saw “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”. We could NOT have fit one more thing into our day o’ goodness!
Favorite Memory: Feeding the geralds, as Ben’s autocorrected text message called it. Nic came for the weekend and we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. And I got to feed the giraffes! It was un-freaking-believable! They are my favorite zoo animal and I could have spent all day there.
Favorite Bite: The house salad at Flemings. Their house dressing is the best I’ve had – it’s a lemon vinaigrette and very refreshing!
Favorite Accomplishment: Going to the top of the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun – all 92 stairs of it, after already being at 7500+ elevation. It was so beautiful and worth it.
Favorite Book: Sins of the Father, by Jeffrey Archer. “On the heels of the international bestseller Only Time Will Tell, Jeffrey Archer picks up the sweeping story of the Clifton Chronicles….
Only days before Britain declares war on Germany, Harry Clifton, hoping to escape the consequences of long-buried family secrets, and forced to accept that his desire to marry Emma Barrington will never be fulfilled, has joined the Merchant Navy. But his ship is sunk in the Atlantic by a German U-boat, drowning almost the entire crew. An American cruise liner, the SS Kansas Star, rescues a handful of sailors, among them Harry and the third officer, an American named Tom Bradshaw. When Bradshaw dies in the night, Harry seizes on the chance to escape his tangled past and assumes his identity.
But on landing in America, he quickly learns the mistake he has made, when he discovers what is awaiting Bradshaw in New York. Without any way of proving his true identity, Harry Clifton is now chained to a past that could be far worse than the one he had hoped to escape.” From the Barnes and Noble Review
Jeffrey Archer is my favorite author. Ever. All of his books are fantastic… I read Kane and Abel in high school and it was my favorite book of all time until 2010!!
Favorite Movie: The Dictator. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1645170/ This movie was just ridiculous, but I saw it with Mer and we share the same sense of humor and I just love it! I laughed my face off inappropriately.
Favorite TV Show: True Blood is back!!! In all its weirdnessly awesome glory!
Favorite Song: Remind Me Who I Am by Jason Gray. http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/remind-me-who-i-am/id455534267?i=455534276 I love his voice!
