Dreams Do Come True

After we landed, we went through customs and got our bags with no incident (and learned not to accept solicited transportation, but to go to the marked taxi area).  We went to our hotel to drop off our bags and score, we were able to check in early with no fee. Which meant I could get ready for the day in my room and not rummage through my stuff in public before dropping bags at bag check and schlep over here later to check in.  Then off we went to Norte Dame, Sainte-Chapelle and Conciergerie.

Or so I thought.

We got off the metro at the Trocadero stop.  We turn a corner and came up the stairs at some old buildings (duh, cuz Paris is old!)  We walked for a minute and then Matt stopped.  He said, "Look" and pointed.

AND

THERE

IT

WAS

My first picture of the Eiffel Tower.  Unedited!!

I couldn’t believe it. M&M surprised me…I thought I was seeing it tomorrow. I mean, I knew I would see glimpses of it in our travels, but not like this!

Maria said Matt had been planning it for weeks.  He said, "Did you really think you wouldn't see it on your first day in Paris?" I said, "I've waited 37 years, what's one more day?!"  HAHA

It was unreal. Like people say, it is so much bigger in real life than expected.

JOY!

My sweet brother

You can’t really tell in this picture, but I am totally crying. I didn’t expect to be emotional about it!!

M&M

Once I got my wits about me, I found a great spot for THE photo. Just look at those clouds!
